TechCrunch's Michael Arrington likes to flout his outsider status as an AOL employee. See, he's in the corporation, but not of the corporation. He gleefully recounts not getting companywide memos for fear TechCrunch will post them. And now, as a sort of civil disobedience of HR policy prohibiting alcohol in the office, "which we have violated each and every day since we were acquired," Arrington decided to out Accelerator Thursdays, "AOL's weekly drinking binges," which involve ice luges with blue curaçao, vodka, and lemonade (Dulles), and White Russians and margaritas (Detroit) in direct violation of company policy. Hey, if our CEO wanted us to become a content farm and Google was tweaking its algorithm to crush that, we'd partake of the company luge too. [TechCrunch]
