Prosecutors have filed requests for indictments against three of Silvio Berlusconi's associates for allegedly soliciting prostitutes for him. Documents allege that 33 women took part in erotic parties at his villa outside Milan. The Italian prime minister, who goes on trial April 6, has denied both the abuse of power and having sex with an underage prostitute. In fact, Berlusconi chalks the whole thing up to a misunderstanding about his hosting style. Reports say the parties would start with "masks, stripteases and erotic dances" and end with Berlusconi partaking in "intimate relations" with one or more women. But in an interview with La Republica quoted by the BBC, Berlusconi explains how he just does things a little differently than Martha Stewart.
"The reality is they were girls whose only fault was to take part in a meal with the prime minister," he said, adding that "carefree, elegant dinners" had given way to "incredible stories".
Carefree, elegant dinner parties. You've been doing them wrong.
