The Happiest Man in America Is an Elderly Hawaiian Jew

The Times recently had Gallup create a composite of the country’s “happiest person” based on the characteristics that correlate with happiness according to its nationwide Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index. Gallup concluded that the happiest person is “a tall, Asian-American, observant Jew who is at least 65 and married, has children, lives in Hawaii, runs his own business and has a household income of more than $120,000 a year,” which actually makes total sense for some reason.
