What the Hell Are These Bursts of Light Outside of My Window?

Two days ago, sitting in my apartment at around 5 p.m. (sometimes we work from home, so what, who cares?), I saw a light flash across my wall. I looked outside my window to behold something happening in that backyard area behind my apartment that I don’t have access to. They were quick, silent, irregularly timed bursts of white and purple light, in the middle of the air, below the rooftops. I didn’t see anybody outside. Hmmm, that’s kind of strange, I thought, and I went back to blogging. After about ten minutes or so, it started happening again. This time, I got out my camera and taped it so that I would have proof when I told my friends (Mom) about it later.

Probably just my weird Brooklyn neighbors doing some weird Brooklyn photo shoot, I thought to myself. I tried to move on with my life. But the lights were bugging me. Lights don’t just appear in the air like that. I watched the video again and again, looking for clues. I watched it in slow motion. I took the pill that Bradley Cooper takes in the movie Limitless and watched it again. Nothing. I’m sure there is some plausible explanation that doesn’t involve failed time-travel attempts or alien activity, but I can’t figure out what it is. So I turn to the hive-mind of the Internet for answers. (Please note the video contains a brief expletive … of wonderment). If there are any meteorologists or metaphysicists out there who know what this is, please help.
