Bill Clinton and Bloomberg Announce Combined Climate-Change Effort

By

They're joining C40, Michael Bloomberg's network of international cities devoted to curbing climate change, and the Clinton Climate Initiative. The move will vastly increase the resources and staffing of both. "Now, there is almost nobody in denial about the reality of climate change," Clinton, who apparently does not watch Fox News, said today at a press conference. "But still people are not sure we can meet these ambitious greenhouse-gas-reduction targets by 2015 and maintain [economic] growth." The key, he said, is to point out that if the green sector is "a growing element of the economy, then the dispute over climate change becomes irrelevant." [NYO]
