FAA Suspends Air Traffic Controller for Watching a Movie on the Job

On Monday, a Cleveland air traffic controller was suspended by the Federal Aviation Administration after he was caught watching a movie while on the job early Sunday morning. The controller was caught after his microphone transmitted the audio from the 2007 Samuel L. Jackson thriller Cleaner to all the planes in the airspace that he was supposed to be monitoring. The controller’s microphone became stuck in the transmit position, making it impossible for radio calls to get through. In short: Samuel L. Jackson out, nothing coming in. This is the eighth air traffic controller or supervisor to be suspended since March.
