Police suspect that Hope Reichbach, a rising figure in local politics found dead in her Schermerhorn Street apartment, died of a drug overdose. The prescription pills were legal, and police are unsure whether it was a suicide or accidental. Reichbach was communications director for City Council member Stephen Levin, the daughter of lefty Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Gustin Reichbach, and a lifelong Boerum Hill resident who ran for district leader there last year.
