Foxconn Workers in China Demonstrate Hot New Trend of Planking

If you haven’t heard, planking is this awesome incomprehensible new-ish trend sweeping the globe, which involves (wait for it): lying face down on a surface. Think of it as Parkour for slackers. The practice, which has its own Facebook page, caught on in Australia, is moving to Ireland, and appears to have reached as far as China. Outside a shareholders meeting for Foxconn — the Chinese manufacturer that churns out your iPhones, iPods, and iPads — workers showcased their trendiness by planking, albeit to protest a rash of employee suicides last year and reports of worker mistreatment. There, hopefully that sufficiently bums everyone out so no one feels compelled to plank again another day. [Unofficial Apple Weblog]
