Iowa Republicans Want Chris Christie to Run for President


On Tuesday night, a group of Iowa Republicans met up with New Jersey governor Chris Christie to urge him to run for president. The governor met with the group of Iowans over dinner, despite repeatedly stating that he has no interest in running. “He understands the country’s problems but feels very strongly that he has that commitment to New Jersey to continue to serve,” said Iowa entrepreneur Bruce Rastetter. Still, he’s not particularly popular in his home state — where credit agencies have downgraded the state’s credit ratings. “I’m not ready to be president,” Christie said last month.
