New York columnist John Heilemann visited the Morning Joe crew this morning to discuss potential presidential candidate of the moment, and former U.S. ambassador to China Jon Huntsman. The panel focused in on Huntsman's foreign policy chops, which are superior to any of the other candidates currently in the running, as well as his thoughts on the U.S. involvement in Afghanistan. "When you make the argument that we should get out of Afghanistan, you have a credibility to make that argument that makes it much more powerful, much more convincing and politically salient," Heilemann said.
And last night, Heilemann stopped by a very purple set for The Last Word, to debate whether this might be the weakest presidential field since 1940. Well, the election is just a mere seventeen months away.
