Even though he disappointed many LGBT supporters by stopping short of voicing support for marriage equality, and even though he went to not the best musical on Broadway, Barack Obama cleaned up pretty well on his fund-raising trip to New York City yesterday. According to the diligent Celeste Katz at the Daily News, a $35,800-a-plate dinner at Daniel was the most lucrative stop of the night (ya think?). He was expected to rake in $2.5 million dollars there alone from banking industry high rollers for his campaign war chest. The LGBT fund-raising dinner and the sold-out performance at Sister Act together earned him about $1.5 million, bringing his total sweep in the city to $4 million. Your move, Romney.
