John Edwards Was Supposedly Looking for a Fresh Start in the Big City

Edwards, who made his name as a big-deal trial lawyer in North Carolina, was reportedly very serious last year about starting a public-interest law firm in New York with union/employment attorney Arthur Schwartz. (New York, you'll remember, is where he met Rielle Hunter, so presumably the city holds a special place in his heart.) The two lawyers had scoped out office space, considered various potential employees, and even lined up bank loans. Then Edwards had to deal with some other, rather more pressing legal affairs, and the plan was called off. [Politcker NY]
