All 163 passengers and crew aboard Caribbean Airlines flight 523 — which left from New York and broke into two pieces in Georgetown, Guyana, early this morning — are still alive, though dozens of injuries have been reported. The plane, attempting to land amid rainy weather, had overshot the runway and nearly fell into a 200-foot ravine. [NPR]
