Massive Dust Storm Sweeps Through Arizona

A major dust storm swept through Arizona Tuesday night. Called a “haboob,” the storm brought gusts of up to 69 mph and stretched for more than 30 miles, with dust thousands of feet high, according to CNN. Apparently, this is just something that happens around desert land, and the only consequences were some delayed flights and power outages. In any case, it made for some awesome photo ops and time-lapse videos. Arizona meteorologist Rob Carlmark was embedded in the storm, and the below footage, we hope, will bring him the national attention he deserves.
