New York Uses Twitter More Than Most of the World, Says a Scientist

This is the world. Red dots represent Flickr photos, the blue dots are tweets, and the white dots are both.

Eric Fischer, an artist-slash-scientist, has taken to mapping exactly where in the world Twitter and Flickr usage is most popular, using geo-tagged tweets and Flickr photos. Take a look: The bright spots are the places where most people just never put their phones down; at the dark spots, there are little to no geo-tagged tweets and photos. A similar map of New York City shows that most tweets and photos within the city are sent from downtown Manhattan and Central Park. [Flickr via Daily Mail UK]
