For politicians whose naked photos wind up in the public sphere, there are a few standard excuses they turn to most often. There's the classic "that's not me," of course. There's the "I was hacked," which Anthony Weiner used successfully for a short time. And now Puerto Rican senator Roberto Arango has come up with maybe the best excuse we've ever heard, after nude photos of him were found on the gay meet-up app Grindr:
"You know I've been losing weight. As I shed that weight, I've been taking pictures. I don't remember taking this particular picture but I'm not gonna say I didn't take it. I'd tell you if I remembered taking the picture but I don't."
Even as implausible as that explanation already seems, it becomes even more implausible when you consider that one of the photos is a direct shot of Arango's asshole.
