The end goal of filling out an online dating profile is more or less to make oneself look attractive in hopes of gettin' some, whether long-term or short-term. So what's attractive, New Yorkers? OKCupid shared its regional data with the Village Voice: For male New Yorkers, the terms that appear most frequently are 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Bob Dylan, "born and raised," and "my iPhone." For women, it's 30 Rock, True Blood, Jay Z, "obsessed with," ice cream, and wine. Sorry, I had it wrong: The end goal of filling out an online dating profile is apparently making one's DVR look attractive, a tacit acknowledgement that, if all goes well, even the most sizzling romances eventually boil down to seeing the other person in sweatpants on the regular. Dating in New York, so glam!
