NYPD Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna was seen using pepper spray against Occupy Wall Street protesters without provocation in a now-infamous video that has become the most noticed moment of the demonstrations, which are currently continuing into their second week. Bologna, as it turns out, has been accused of abusing protesters before. In response to last weekend’s attack, the Police Department said his actions were appropriate and that the pepper spray was “used sparingly,” but a new video uploaded last night shows Bologna getting trigger-happy with the spray, just moments after the first incident, simply in an effort to get some kids to scram.
