Cuomo and Public Employees Union Can’t Make a Deal

By

State workers rejected a budget compromise proposed by the government yesterday, which would have transferred more health-care costs to workers, as well as frozen their wages. The Civil Service Employees Association took a similar deal earlier this summer, but the Public Employees weren't willing to back down. Instead, 3,500 unlucky employees are getting the boot. Most of the cuts will come from the Mental Health, Corrections, and Transportation departments. [WNYC]
