Marc Jacobs Moves Out

Marc Jacobs.

Further proof that nothing daunts Marc Jacobs. Right before Fashion Week unleashed its freakishly tall models down the pop-up runways of Lincoln Center, the designer was switching households. A source says Jacobs has finally moved out of the 2,062-square-foot penthouse he'd been renting from New York Ranger turned Montreal Canadien hockey star Scott Gomez at the Chelsea Mercantile since late 2009. He was purportedly paying $15,000 a month for a place geared up with an outdoor kitchen on the terrace, five flat-screen TVs, and remote-controlled lighting. Apparently, Jacobs is finally taking up residence in his Superior Ink townhouse, one of six built as part of Superior Ink, the much-buzzed-about Robert A.M. Stern–designed condo that reportedly includes, among numerous perks, valet bike parking for residents. Anyone who wants to sleep where Jacobs slept — sounds salacious but we actually mean literally, as the place comes furnished — can rent it for $23,000 a month. Corcoran's Andrew Torrey and Noble Black, who have the listing, refused to comment.
