In a Sunday interview with 60 Minutes, Ray Kelly said that the NYPD has "some means to take down a plane," should it come to that. The police commissioner wouldn't get into the details, but he did confirm that the city's counterterrorism unit had anti-aircraft "equipment and training," along with "radiation detectors ringing the city" and plans to increase the number of surveillance cameras downtown from 2,000 to 3,000 in the near future.
