Inspired by actor Zachary Quinto — who came out as gay in the pages of the current issue of New York — Dan Kloeffler of World News Now not only came out on air, but also kinda sorta maybe asked out Quinto in the process. Kloeffler also wrote a blog post after the show clarifying why he'd decided to do it: "As a journalist, I don’t want to be the story, but as a gay man I don’t want to stand silent if I can offer some inspiration or encouragement to kids that might be struggling with who they are."
