John Heilemann on Hardball: Will Republicans Still Be Hungry for Chris Christie in 2016?

Shortly after Chris Christie’s long press conference today finally, officially, once and for all announcing he would not run for president (just as he’s been saying for weeks now) our own John Heilemann told Hardball’s Chris Matthews that the New Jersey governor was just taking his time basking in the spotlight of the national media for a while. “I think he is trying to follow the old showbiz rule, which is to leave your audience wanting more,” Heilemann said. “I think he’s not saying his time isn’t coming … he wants to keep reminding [supporters] as much as possible why they wanted him so badly and to have them still be hungry for him whenever his time does come.”
