Jimmy Fallon Apologizes to Michele Bachmann for Roots’ Dis

Well, it was fun until Late Night host Jimmy Fallon had to issue a public apology to Michele Bachmann because the show's house band, the Roots, welcomed the congresswoman to the stage last night with the song "Lyin' Ass Bitch."

Several hours after faux-"grounding" Roots drummer Questlove for his role in the flap, Fallon tweeted his mea culpa. It's comical that probably no one except the Roots knew the intro was a dis until listeners identified the song. This assumes, of course, that Bachmann is not a huge fan of Fishbone.

Update: “The performance was a tongue-in-cheek and spur of the moment decision. The show was not aware of it and I feel bad if her feelings were hurt. That was not my intention,” Questlove said in a statement.
