A fourteen-year veteran of the NYPD was convicted today of placing a small bag of crack cocaine on an innocent woman and her boyfriend. In the trial of Jason Arbeeny, another former NYPD detective, who pleaded guilty in a similar case, described the process known as "flaking": "It's almost like you have no emotion with it, that they attach the bodies to it, they're going to be out of jail tomorrow anyway; nothing is going to happen to them anyway."
