Tea Party Patriots Founder Arrested on Gun Charge at La Guardia

WASHINGTON - NOVEMBER 2: Tea Party Patriots co-founder, National Coordinator Mark Meckler (R) gives a thumbs-up sign while while standing next to his son Jacob, 14, as members of the Tea Party Patriots prepare to hold a rally on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol on Election Day November 2, 2010 in Washington, DC. Most polling conducted ahead of today's elections point to a change in power in the House, where Republicans could win the 39 seats they need to take control of the chamber. Mark Meckler, the co-founder of a major (trademarked) tea party group, was hit with a felony weapons possession charge yesterday for carrying a locked gun box with a Glock 27 pistol and ammo at La Guardia Airport. The tea party patriots member seems to have misunderstood local gun laws, having declared his weapon unaware that a California permit doesn't apply in New York. Meckler faces up to fifteen years in prison, but will probably just pay a fine, which will only serve to increase the size of government, however incrementally. Damn Yankees and their freedom-hating.
