Rick Santorum Is Just Taunting Us Now

TAMPA, FL - JANUARY 23: Republican presidential candidate, former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum (L) makes a point as former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney looks on during the NBC News, National Journal, Tampa Bay Times debate held at the University of South Florida on January 23, 2012 in Tampa, Florida. The debate is the first of two before the Florida primaries on January 31st. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images) Embracing his role as Savage bait.

I’ve gotten pretty tired of gross Santorum jokes. But it’s very hard to ignore it when the man pulls stunts like creating a Conservatives Unite Moneybomb. Is his staff totally unaware of the concept of “acronyms”? Or are they actually calculating that any attention is good — or specifically, any attention that pits Santorum against the hated, sneering, liberal elite?

I’m strongly tempted to ignore this, except I fear that if it doesn’t produce the desired response, he’s going to keep provoking us with new groups like Americans Supporting Santorum.
