Twitter Founder Wants to Put Tablets in Your Taxi

NEW YORK - JANUARY 31: An interactive television system is shown in the back seat of a taxi January 31, 2003 in New York City. The screens are being installed as a pilot program by the city's Taxi and Limousine Commission and are being tested in approximately 178 of the city's 12,000 yellow cabs. The commission is testing seven different television services including interactive systems with entertainment information, news and sports updates as well as feature programming on various aspects of New York life. We can remember a time when all you did during a cab ride was watch the city zoom by outside your window and quietly contemplate your mortality. Now, a few years after the introduction of Taxi TV, Jack Dorsey of Twitter fame wants to embed tablets and his Square mobile-payment technology into the backseat divider, allowing you to swipe your credit card at any time during the trip, as well as occupy yourself with games and a million other things. We guess it's inevitable — that's the world we live in now. People don't make time to just sit anymore.
