Tim Geithner’s ‘Silly Little Smirk’ Not Appreciated

WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 16: U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner testifies before the Senate Budget Committee about the Obama Administration's FY2013 federal budget on Capitol Hill February 16, 2012 in Washington, DC. President Barack Obama's administration released its $3.8 trillion FY2013 budget February 13. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images) Timothy Geithner, you stop that smirking at once!

As is his wont, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner flashed a bit of sass during his congressional testimony on the budget today. It was not totally appreciated:

“You can smile and laugh about it all you want,” Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah) bristled at Mr. Geithner during a House Budget Committee hearing. Mr. Chaffetz then intoned he was getting sick of the Treasury secretary’s “silly little smirk.”

Otherwise, I'm sure Mrs. Geithner would be very interested to hear how disruptive her son was during his congressional testimony today, hmmm?
