The Donald Trump self-promotion machine has spun once again, producing a "major announcement" on Thursday, February 2, at 12:30 p.m. at Trump International Hotel & Tower in Las Vegas.
Barring a change of heart, Trump won't be reentering the race; the announcement, two days ahead of the Nevada caucuses, will probably be an endorsement for one of the remaining Republican candidates. Trump said in November that an endorsement would be coming. "... I've got a good, good sight on everybody. I have a lot of respect for a lot of them. We have some good people."
So who will it be, and will it benefit him in any way?
"I have no idea what the Donald is going to do," Gingrich said. "He is always interesting, and I don't know of anybody who does a better job of getting attention by announcing that he will presently announce something."
Trump has met with most of the field one-on-one, with Gingrich in December. And as of mid-December, Romney was the favorite in Nevada, a state he won in 2008 with Ron Paul right behind.
"All media welcome," Trump tweeted. Come for the announcement, stay for the Spanish poker.
Update: According to the 8 News NOW I-Team out of Vegas, Trump will endorse Gingrich.
