The biggest buzz so far from the tech portion of South by Southwest is that CNN is expected to buy the blog Mashable for more than $200 million, according to Felix Salmon of Reuters (and occasionally New York). The deal reportedly isn’t done, but it could be announced as soon as tomorrow and would pair one of the most popular tech and social-media sites on the Web with Time Warner, whose already syndicates some Mashable stories. In a search for confirmation, the Times stretches a bit to note that Mashable executive editor Adam Ostrow “liked” a Facebook link to Salmon’s story, but let’s be real: we’ve all played coy with a “like” or two in our day, so let’s just wait and see what happens.
