After yesterday's six-month Occupy Wall Street anniversary protest that resulted in 73 arrests, OWS sympathizer Smackema1 tweeted: "we won't make a difference if we don't kill a cop or two." That was unwise.
Paul Browne, the NYPD's top spokesman, told the Daily News that the department is seeking a subpoena to find out who's behind the tweet.
The mystery tweeter lives in Florida and has never attended an OWS protest. According to his Twitter, he has explained to the NYPD that his comment was taken out of context. He was just kidding (lol!) he told the News:
“It’s not like I meant anything of it. Who takes anything like that seriously? I’m in Florida, what am I going to do?"
