When you enter a mostly-empty subway car, don't think to yourself, oh, what a pleasant surprise, a mostly-empty subway car. With nobody around, I can stretch out a bit without bothering a single person. Maybe I will be rest my foot on this seat that nobody needs. Because that's exactly what the NYPD wants you to think, right before four or five officers pop out from behind some shrubbery and hit you with an absolutely infuriating $50 ticket.
