NEW YORK, NY - JANUARY 26: A New York Police Department (NYPD) van is viewed on January 26, 2012 in New York City. After New York City's police commissioner Raymond Kelly appeared in the film "The Third Jihad" Muslim groups are asking him to step down. The groups say that the film they depicts Islam and its followers in a bad light. Approximately 20 activists held a news conference on the steps of City Hall criticizing Kelly for giving an interview to the producers of the film, which warns against the dangers of radical Islam. The film was shown to hundreds and maybe thousands of NYPD officers for training purposes. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images) Photo: Spencer Platt/2012 Getty Images

Fifty-year-old Sergey Mamontov of 3395 Nostrand Avenue in Sheepshead Bay has confessed to dismembering his roommate because, he felt, "there was no other way to take care of [the victim]," police sources told the Daily News. Mamontov had squabbled about noisiness and partying with his 55-year-old roommate Aleksandr Zilbergleyt, who had been living there for about eight months. A person living in the building reported hearing a loud crashing sound on March 25, the day Zilbergleyt disappeared. “He was very meticulous, very methodical,” a source told the Daily News. “He cleaned up afterwards. He put the body parts in the refrigerator ... He didn’t know what his next move was." Police found Mamontov watching TV when they arrived at the residence.
