The man who works tourists for photos at the Central Park Zoo while dressed as the red Sesame Street monster was taken away on a stretcher by the NYPD on Sunday after security guards kicked him out of the zoo. The Daily News reports that a call about an "emotionally disturbed person" prompted Elmo's ejection. The News also calls this Elmo an imposter, which seems unfair or naïve; after playing the role for years now, he's earned impersonator status. Perhaps they were expecting the real Elmo.
