Instead of being extradited to Sweden to face charges on two counts of sexual misconduct, Wikileaks mastermind Julian Assange would rather move to Ecuador and face no charges for anything, please.

Ecuador's foreign minister says Wilikeaks chief Julian Assange has taken refuge in the South American nation's embassy in London and is seeking political asylum.

Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino says Ecuador is weighing the request.

Ecuador and Assange have something of a history: The country offered Asssange residency in 2010, and last month Assange interviewed Ecuador's president on TV. We guess the old adage is true: "It's good to have friends in high places, and, barring that, Ecuador."
