London Mayor Boris Johnson Offers New Yorkers Sanctuary From ‘Soda Tyranny’

Not only did the London Mayor ding Mayor Bloomberg Monday night over the controversial soda-ban proposal, but he did it on Bloomberg's own turf at the Daily Show in New York — and he invoked language from the Statue of Liberty. "What I will say is that refugees from the soda tyranny in New York will have sanctuary in London," Johnson told Jon Stewart, before attempting to exploit the city's possible soda oppression for tourism bucks. "I don't want to sound jingoistic, but if you do wish to come and drink soda from a 16 ounce pot, come to London. Bring your huddled masses yearning to break free."
