Satirist Andy Borowitz has moved his Onion-style fake news site, the Borowitz Report, to the website of The New Yorker, where the legendary fact-checkers will be spared. “The Borowitz Report will be as inaccurate as always,” the current-event-riffing comedian promised. “David Remnick, the editor of The New Yorker, has assured me that I can write whatever I want as long as I don’t make fun of Malcolm Gladwell.” The magazine’s “Shouts & Murmurs” column is also getting a new web presence with the Daily Shouts blog, with NewYorker.com editor Nicholas Thompson telling Paid Content, “We’re adding writers, we’re adding categories, we’re doing all kinds of small things to make the site better.” Get ready, serious magazine readers: All Internet roads lead to cute animal listicles.
