The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee (of which Michele Bachmann is a member) would like everyone to know that her nutty claims about longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin’s supposed ties to the Muslim Brotherhood are not based in any reality he is aware of. In an interview, Republican representative Mike Rodgers said, “That kind of assertion certainly doesn’t comport with the Intelligence Committee, and I can say that on the record.”

He was joined by fellow committee member Dutch Ruppersberger, who said it was “unfortunate” that Bachmann “would make that kind of comment without facts.” He added that, “We are in a special situation as members of the intelligence committee, and we get a lot of briefings and to deal with the issue of terrorism and those types of thing.” Good to know that stuff is in the right hands.
