Robber Finds No Cash, Shoves Pomeranian in Pants Instead

Long Island police are asking for help identifying a man who attempted to rob the Zoorama Pet Store in Elmont last month while his friend pretended to be interested in buying a puppy. The thief went behind the counter three times and tried to open the cash register, but eventually he gave up and put a 10-week-old Pomeranian puppy down his pants. The dogs sell for $1,000, so it was actually a smart item to steal, but we're unclear on why he tried to stash the puppy. Isn't it less suspicious to walk out of a pet store holding a puppy rather than having a strange barking noise coming from your pants?
