“[Sorkin] writes the way every Democrat in Washington wished they spoke,” President Obama said during his remarks at a $35,800-per-plate Monday night fund-raiser at Harvey Weinstein’s Connecticut home, where Aaron Sorkin and Anne Hathaway acted as co-hosts. (Is Sorkin’s occasionally recycled dialogue really what Democrats aspire to, or was he just being polite?) He also had some nice things to say about Hathaway: “She’s spectacular. I got a chance to see Batman, and she was the best thing in it. That’s just my personal opinion.” Hopefully he didn’t just lose Christian Bale’s vote.
