The hundreds of start-ups attending this year’s TechCrunch Disrupt SF in the hopes of becoming the next Silicon Valley darlings are skilled at many things — flashy demos, enticing food giveaways, pitches filled with impenetrable jargon.
But with all that programming code monopolizing their brain space, their spelling has suffered. What began as a trend that included oddly spelled companies like Flickr and Tumblr has metamorphosed into a full-fledged epidemic.
