The growing pains of starting a television channel have reached the point at which Current TV, the little cable network founded by Al Gore, would be willing to give up its independent ethos and just join up with something larger. "Current has been approached many times by media companies interested in acquiring our company," CEO Joel Hyatt told the Post. "This year alone, we have had three inquiries. As a consequence, we thought it might be useful to engage expertise to help us evaluate our strategic options." At least two of those inquiries may have been prank calls from a bored Keith Olbermann.
