Few things in this world can create more material for late-night hosts than an eighteen-month election cycle. It didn't seem to take much effort to transform a gaffe-rich field of Republican hopefuls into cartoons, and Romney's early difficulties with taming his more blatantly patrician tics (that laugh!) gave comedians an easy blueprint for his caricature. While no writing staff could match last night's Fox News channel or Donald Trump's election-night Twitter feed for excruciatingly pure dark humor, America's late-night hosts killed this season.
