So how did convicted felon William Spengler acquire the guns with which he killed two firemen in Webster, New York, earlier this week? According to authorities, a young neighbor, 24-year-old Dawn Nguyen, bought two of them for him two years ago at a gun store. And they figured it out with a tip from Spengler himself:
The rambling letter Spengler left behind, which [U.S. Attorney William] Hochul described as a “suicide note,” informed authorities that the guns had come from the daughter of a neighbor.
We guess that crazed old man next door who murdered his grandmother with a hammer and wanted help buying guns illegally wasn't the most trustworthy guy after all.
