Foxconn to Fill Early Google Glass Orders Right Here in America

By

Like other electronics companies, Google is turning to Foxconn to manufacture its new line of cyborg glasses, of which it just promised to 8,000 contest winners. But unlike its competition, Google is going to have them made near its California headquarters, in Foxconn's first U.S. factory, the Financial Times reports. Making them in Silicon Valley "will allow Google’s engineers to be closely involved with the production process and provide more opportunities for last-minute fixes and for personal customisation." It will also beat Apple to the punch after its promise to manufacture domestically.
