Despite the notoriously gray legal area in NYC when it comes to fatal accidents, Julio Acevedo, the man accused of killing a young Hasidic couple and their newborn baby in a Williamsburg crash earlier this month, has been indicted for leaving the scene of a deadly accident, with additional charges for criminally negligent homicide, speeding, and reckless driving to come, ABC 7 reports. “It was an accident. Accidents happen every day,” said Acevedo’s lawyer, who has a difficult job but left out the part where her client spent the next few days hiding from police and giving interviews.
