100-Person Poll: Anthony Weiner Edition

With Anthony Weiner now openly contemplating a political comeback with a run for mayor, we sent intern Neha Sharma out to Union Square to ask a diverse group of 100 New Yorkers whether they thought the disgraced congressman deserves a second chance, whether they even remember when he resigned two years ago, and whether they have ever tweeted crotch-shots of their own.

On the question of whether people can even recall what Weiner's scandal entailed, it turns out that yes, they can. But if he runs, Weiner might have to remind 9 out of 100 people that he didn't actually have an affair and 3 out of 100 people that he never went near a prostitute. Also, one guy thought taxes were involved.

The big question surrounding a potential Weiner candidacy is whether it's actually viable. According to our poll, it isn't, as he only has a ceiling of about 35 percent support.

However, there's a chance that voters could be convinced otherwise, because they don't seem too enamored of the current crop of candidates.

Finally, we wanted to know how many people out there might be able to sympathize with Weiner's favorite pastimes.
