The troubled (unauthorized) characters of Times Square include an anti-Semitic Elmo and a molesting Mario, but shoving a toddler is a new one. Osvaldo Quiroz-Lopez, the man in the Cookie Monster suit, was arrested yesterday for allegedly pushing a 2-year-old after the child’s mother declined to tip him $2 for a photo. And to think that men who choose to dress up like oversize children’s characters skew toward the unstable.
