Rupert Murdoch, whose many real estate holdings include an eleven-bedroom place in Beverly Hills, has announced that he’s purchasing California’s Moraga Estate. In true Murdoch fashion, he informed the world of his purchase on Twitter: “About to celebrate buying beautiful small vineyard right in LA. Great wine, Moraga, owned by great Angelino, Tom Jones. Time cover,1961!” The tweet checks out, according to THR: The media mogul is currently in escrow, the 13-acre spot is in Bel Air, and Tom Jones — the ex-CEO of Northrop Corporation, not the Welsh singer of “Sex Bomb” — was on the 1961 issue of Time. The news comes two months after Murdoch’s own Wall Street Journal ran a piece on the $29.5 million property, which includes 7,500-square-foot main house, a two-bedroom guesthouse, a pool, a 2,300-square-foot winery, a tasting room, and a wine cave. Basically, it’s just one more place to practice Transcendental Meditation.
